Oneheart is my Human Doctor - Second Life Character. Modelled using a generic shape and skin and is based on the TV/Film actor David Tennant. (Doctor Who 2005 - 2010)
Rose Tyler - NEW Revised Second Life Character. Modelled using a bought shape and modified on the TV/Film Actress Billie Piper. (Doctor Who 2005 - 2010)
Based on the famous beach scene, which left us all reaching for our tissues in Series 4 Journey's End. (Well me anyway)
This has been one of my intentions for a long time on Second Life - but after losing my original Rose to the Ethos I gave up on the idea - Well as you can see I got a new girl back around Christmas (Can never quite be like your first - but she's a damn fine sub.)
As The Doctor said to Rose - Does It Need Saying?
So my sentiments are the same.......
I will make a few confessions about the piece though - A lot of the original SL work has been manipulated in PS to fit the scene - And tbh I never want to tweak/paint a stripe on a suit EVER again!! Rose's coat was a virtual impossibility and not one I was prepared to tackle in SL for this project alone - so I have manipulated. And WHY the hell not
Linking to work: I appreciate it is difficult to keep all work within the Deviant Art community, therefore, if you do reference the artwork 'anywhere' outside of Deviant Art via a link, please be kind enough to credit me as the original owner of the work. Thank you for taking the trouble to look. Please DO NOT screengrab unwatermarked artwork. It is a breach of my copyright.
Second Life quality notice: All Second Life work shown is NOT submitted in it's RAW state. All Second Life deviations undergo a fair amount of photoshop manipulation and correction. I run my SL Viewer based on the best settings that work with my hardware and broadband connection. Therefore this will effect the final quality and output of the pics taken. This may also vary from user to user. If you require more information on the sim, please visit [link]
LOL No problem - tbh I have moved on from Second Life now and predominantly use 3D software - it isn't really stable enough for the work I was trying to convey but served me well at the time. I'm a big fan of realism in my work and sadly Rose number two is not quite as good as Rose number one was. In fact Rose's avatar hasn't been touched for a year at least.
Thanks airachenea - but this is really a lot of Postwork. I model my characters using my Second Life figures. (Oneheart is a project over 2 years) If you are not familiar with the Sim then I suggest looking into it. It's NOT to be compared with 'The Sims'. That is a game, Second Life is a way of virtual living, there is NO game plan in SL.
The work you see here on DA is predominantly Photoshopped - you will note I always warn folks about my SL uploads, that whilst what you see here in the finished product resembles likeness and detail. The sim itself can often be a pain in the backside for lag and will crunch a slow machine to death at times. It certainly does not always behave. (Bumps and lumps on figures in all the wrong places etc..)
I guess there is more of my artistic license in this piece than there is Second Life.
this was a while ago, so i dunno if you still care...buuut Second Life is an online MMO that she used to make the custom content on and then screencapped it.

Hope that helps.
