For the benefit of those unfamilar - Sherlock Holmes was never just about Moffat/Cumberbatch, though I imagine that is the version many of the younger followers have seen. However, if you are really into your Holmes, and want to see Sherlock in the way Doyle intended, then may I suggest you look up Jeremy Brett. It is a little like seeing Doctor Who without having never seen Tom Baker.

Brett was a charming, beautiful man of the time and IMO the best Sherlock to date. (This is always up for debate, but one easily defended when you see his version) Sadly Brett died before all versions were completed due to illness. But he will remain in the hearts, minds and memories of many a Sherlock fan forever. :)

I also respect ACD original intentions and that the relationship between Holmes and Watson was never deemed as anything more than that of close friends, so in no way, is it my intention to upset the memory of Brett or anything he stands for - however he was bisexual, and this rings close to my heart for that reason alone.


I am also aware that hardcore Brett Fans will note the picture is NOT canon to Sherlock. The image was constructed purely for fun/personal. So if it doesn't make you smile or leaves you wanting to say anything unpleasant, be kind enough to leave them in peace :)

It's also not territory I plan to go in to often in this manner, but artists are often fond of their weird imaginations :D

I like Moffs version, but I'm definitely with you on Jeremy Brett, he will always be "my Sherlock" :)

I've never asked, but I'm guessing we're of a similar age, given our tastes in certain things.

for me too, Four was my Doctor, I met him once too, and he's the sweetest man, but that was in my "youth"

and then Ten appeared, and lust definitely had a hand in that, lol

One of the Country's finest & most prolific Sherlock Holmes ever to be known. His Sherlock was renown for being the most canon to date - sadly no longer with us
